Founder, President, Moses Osoro

Moses received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Carrington College in California. Moses currently works in the healthcare field. Our goal for One Child One Hen is to create a community-based infrastructure that would give the women and children power to face these challenges with confidence, while appreciating the power of joining hands together and forming one formidable force that would work towards the goal of reducing the levels of these problems, if not eliminate them.

Vice- President, Paul Philleo

Paul received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University in 1982, and his Master’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1984.  Paul retired in March 2017 from a 35-year engineering career that encompassed infrastructure planning, design, construction, and maintenance; public finance; and public utility management.  For the last ten years of his career Paul served as the Director of the Department of Waste Management and Recycling for Sacramento County, California.  Paul is humbled and honored to have the opportunity to combine his engineering expertise with his love and passion for the wonderful people of East Africa.

 

 

Chief Financial Officer, Cathy Lambert Philleo

Cathy received her Bachelor’s of Art degree in Teaching from Sacramento State University in 1984. Cathy taught for 37 years in the teaching profession as well as non-profits and retired in March 2017 while continuing to volunteer. Cathy is currently actively volunteering for several non-profit entities. Since joining One Child One Hen, Cathy has been fortunate to visit the site in Kenya multiple times.

Board Member, Mike Van Duyn                                                                                                          

Mike is a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years of experience primarily serving clients in the financial institution space.  He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accountancy from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1999.  Mike is currently an Audit Partner in the Sacramento office of Crowe Horwath LLP, a top 10 US and international audit, tax and consulting firm.  Mike is humbled to have the opportunity to be part of One Child One Hen and is inspired by its leaders and mission to eradicate poverty and empower the people of western Kenya.

Board Member, Pastor Brett Shoemaker  

Pastor Brett has over 20 years of experience in Youth Ministry and is currently the Director of Youth and Family Ministries for Faith Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Religion / Theology from Whitworth College in 1994, and his Master of Divinity from Seattle University in 2011.  Pastor Brett is very grateful to have the opportunity to serve on the board of One Child One Hen.

Secretary, Sam Cadeaux

Sam received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Recreation from Brigham Young University – Idaho in 2006, and his Master’s of Science degree in Recreation Administration from California State University – Sacramento in 2010. Sam currently works for the Department of Parks and Recreation for the State of California. Sam is honored to have the opportunity to serve on the board of One Child One Hen as Secretary.
